Speco Technologies has recently enhanced its NR series recorders by integrating them with Speco Access for live viewing and video tagging in their browser-based management software. Now, they are taking it a step further by combining their access control system and NR series recorders into one unified hardware solution. The N8WA42TB and N8WA4P2TB models feature Speco’s patented wall-mount NVR, which now also includes an access controller, simplifying two-factor authentication.
The 8-channel NRE Advanced Analytics NVR is housed within the wall-mount chassis and operates just like a traditional NVR. Users can easily connect a mouse and either an HDMI or VGA cable to a monitor for setup and management of various advanced analytics such as Facial Recognition, Human & Vehicle Detection, Line Crossing, and License Plate Recognition.
Above the NVR is a 4-door Speco access controller, pre-loaded as a server with the NVR license. Speco also provides a switch and Cat5e patch cables for both the NVR and the access controller. All devices are powered from a single power supply. To get started, simply plug in the ethernet cable to the switch and connect to power—your system is ready for setup.
Unique Design:
Speco Technologies offers a truly unique solution that combines the functionality of an 8-channel NVR and access controller in one unit. This innovative design brings significant value by simplifying installation and long-term management, saving both time and effort.
Integration of NVR and Access Control:
The combined NVR and access controller housed in a single, compact unit provides numerous benefits. The integration makes two-factor authentication more efficient by reducing wiring distance between the NVR and the access controller—only a short cable is needed for the system to link facial recognition with credential scanning. The discreet wall-mounted design saves space and adds an extra layer of security. The unit can be hidden in plain sight, in a storage closet, or another inconspicuous location. Furthermore, Speco offers the option to custom-brand the housing with logos or warning signs upon request.
Simplicity and Efficiency:
The two-in-one unit makes setup incredibly simple, with just one power connection for the entire system. The recorder can be customized with up to 16TB of storage, and setting up two-factor authentication or configuring a license plate camera to trigger a gate is straightforward.
Easy Installation:
By combining the NVR and access controller in one location, installation becomes more efficient. Installers can complete more installations in less time, thanks to the simplicity of having both systems in a single unit.
Browser-Based Software:
Speco’s Access Control software is fully browser-based, eliminating the need for additional software installations. Users can access the system from any supported browser within seconds, and there’s no need to dedicate a computer to control the system, which eliminates compatibility issues. This saves integrators time by removing the need for IT updates and reducing support requirements.
Mobile App Integration:
The integration with the Speco Access mobile app is a major benefit for both installers and end users. The app allows remote live viewing, as well as setting up cardholders and credentials directly from a smartphone. Users can lock or unlock doors, adjust the system’s threat level, and more, all from the convenience of their mobile device.
